Patchwork was opened in 1992, when the founder and director, Lorraine Aichele, while working full time for NY state became aware that there were no recreational riding programs for folks with disabilities.

Today, Patchwork, entering its 16th year of operation, still maintains the high quality of its horses, programs and staff to help people with disabilities enjoy life to the fullest.

Individuals with disabilities enjoy Fooler, Bo and other horses while helping improve their balance, relax and strengthen their muscles and gain confidence in themselves.

Depending on the student's physical and mental capability, lessons range from 15 to 45 minutes.
